It all started five years ago at a small shop near my small Ohio town: my first calligraphy workshop, just after moving back from Philadelphia. Who knew? I had no idea it would blossom to become such a fun part of this studio's business. With a degree in Art Education, I suppose it made sense teaching around a table of willing-to-learn folks would grow on me so quickly. Witnessing so many individuals realize their potential on such a timeless art is such a beautiful process; whether it's for the reason of wanting to learn something new, or to enhance their skillset for their future creative endeavors, it's such a joy to provide even the smallest stepping stone for each person who leaves with a new pen in hand.
Workshops are held at a variety of inspirational spots around Ohio, although the travel bug in me is always willing to pack up & set up anywhere. New dates are always listed below, & you may also join the email list to stay in the loop.
Beginner Calligraphy Workshop at Fern
Friday, October 22nd, 6:30-8:30pm at Fern in Cincinnati, Ohio
Join us as we guide through the basics of holding and understanding the anatomy of the pen, dipping ink, learning how to mix your own ink, playing with colored inks, scribing the alphabet, & trying your hand at scribing some words & sentences. Each student will receive The Hive Studio Kit, a beautifully crafted calligraphy starter kit, along with a handmade booklet of practice papers & resources to use in class and to take home to practice.
